realising a dream

Earlier this week I met with my wonderful friend Judy from Corporate Chillout for coffee. We went to our new favourite cafe, Monk Bodhi Dharma in Balaclava.

I can't tell you how much I love this place. It's tiny (and I love all things small), the coffee is fabulous and their food is earthy, wholesome and homemade but still completely delicious. Which is something very few places manage to balance well.

But there was something else that made the visit truly special and that was bumping into one of the owners, Kate Shaw who was once a client of mine. She greeted me with her beautiful smile and told me that this little business is the creation of her and her husband Marwin.

When people do things with great passion as Kate and Marwin have clearly done, the results are so often incredible. Their attention to detail is evident everywhere. From the 'just right' lighting, to the warmth and texture in all of their choices in decor to the friendly and efficient service as well as the great coffee and food.

This place is a dream. Kate and Marwin's dream. And it's well worth a visit (or two).

I love visiting new cafes too and this one looks lovely! Will have to pay it a visit soon. One of my current faves is Bubba Budan on Little Bourke st (near corner of Elizabeth) - have you tried it? Fabulous coffee and there are chairs hanging from the ceiling...!

Thanks for the tip Kerry! I will call into Bubba Budan next time I have half an hour to spare in the city. I love the sound of the chairs hanging from the ceiling.
