Today is RUOK Day in Australia. The website describes it as 'a national day of action which aims to prevent suicide by encouraging Australians to connect with someone they care about and help stop little problems turning into big ones'.
It's another small initiative to help raise our awareness about the mental wellbeing of the people around us.
Sometimes we avoid meaningful conversations about how we're really feeling...I do it myself sometimes. It's often easier to respond with 'yeah, I'm good' rather than giving an honest answer and let's face it, there are plenty of times when it just wouldn't be
appropriate to answer truthfully.
But if you sense someone struggling, make it a priority to ask the question. Download the tips from the website and make time today (or later this week) to ask a friend, a family member, your partner or a colleague if they really are ok.
